What a shoot, I just love being able to incorporate horses my biggest love into my photography. Heidi was looking for some beautiful equestrian styled portraits with her best friend Rosie and I was more than excited when she asked if I could capture the two of them. Equine Portrait Photographer – Hayley & Donny

This very last minute shoot came about as Hayley just found out that she had to give her gorgeous boy Donny back to his original owners. Hayley had put many hours into Donny and built a truly special bond that only a horse lover can understand. Donny taught Hayley so much and she has only grown from this experience and is ready to apply it all again to a new four legged friend. This was a really special shoot and I feel so privileged that I got to capture the last couple of special moments these two had together.

Horse Photographer – Mitavite Gumnuts Promotion – Photo Shoot

Big Congratulations to Barbara for winning the Mitavite Gumnuts Promotion. It was her quarter horse mare Jill (Black Azul) who was selected to win from entries all over Australia and New Zealand. As the winner she received a Mitavite prize pack and a photo shoot by me! Yay. I really wish I had more time to be a horse photographer as this shoot was just amazing.
Barbara has owned Jill her whole life and bred her daughter and grand daughter. You can see a photo of the three generations below in the photos. I also didn’t do this job solo I had a partner in crime. Bronwyn from Bronwyn Jones Makeup Artistry, she gave Barbara some beautiful pampering will a full makeover. She was also the best photo assistant around helping me get those ears just perfect or just laying behind logs encouraging horses to stay in one spot.
Thank you Barbara for welcoming us into your home. We had such a wonderful time spending the afternoon on your beautiful property surrounded by all your equine family members. x

Mary & Mindarah Park Ramadan – A girl and her warmblood stallion

I first ventured into photography by my love of horses. Over the years the horse work disappeared and weddings became my full time job. Having owned horses for most of my life I understand that special bond that connects a human and a horse. A love that you can only understand if you have had that special horse of your own. It is that bond that I miss in my life and something I look forward to again when the time is right. In the meantime I’ve been putting my feelers out to find the perfect horse and rider combination to photograph and capture that special bond. Then along came Mary and Rami, a team that are taking the dressage world by storm and a love that grows between them with every experience they share together. To start the day off Mary put Rami through his paces showing me his beautiful work that they continually practice and refine. It was then time to transform Mary into a princess for a love shoot with her best friend. This was my favourite part of the day and as the sun dropped everything came together to create the magic you will see below. These images truly warm my heart and I hope they warm yours too.
