Here is a list of my top 10 favourite venues on the Central Coast.
Whether you are a local like me or planning your perfect destination wedding on the Coast this list will help you find some inspiration and ideas to guide you on your way. We are totally spoilt for choice on the Central Coast when it comes to wedding locations, there are so many that I could mention but these are definitely up there as my favourite!
Fernbank Farm – Wyong Creek
Wow! This place has it all across 25 acres of stunning gardens situated in the gorgeous Yarramalong Valley. They have a permanent on-site marquee and accommodation for the whole family in two beautiful homes. One house styled modern country and the other a gorgeous heritage beauty fully restored. This is used for the bridal party and makes for the most beautiful backdrop for your getting ready photos! They cater for small elopements to large scale wedding celebrations. There are multiple choices for your ceremony location including by the beautiful lake or under the stunning timber arbour that is covered in purple wisteria blooms during spring. Fernbank Farm also offers horse and carriage services and wet weather back up options for a unique and stress free experience. The gardens are in full bloom during spring, my favourite time of year there which makes for beautiful Insta-worthy photos.
Glenworth Valley – Peats Ridge
Definitely up there as one of my all-time favs! Glenworth has it all. A 3000-acre property located near Peats Ridge on the Central Coast. The property has every-thing from open green paddocks, lush rain forests with gorgeous rock formations and a crystal-clear river running through the property. The Valley Events centre can hold weddings up to 300 guests. There are multiple ceremony locations to choose from including; the stunning lookout at the top of the hill, outside the events centre or across the creek in one of the big open paddocks. There is accommodation on site in perfectly positioned eco cabins scattered around the property for complete privacy. Your guests can also hire glamping tents or bringing along their own setup. My absolute favourite part of Glenworth is the running of the horses that happens every afternoon at 5pm which makes for the most EPIC wedding photos ever!
Pullman Magenta Shores – North Entrance
Pullman Magenta Shores at The Entrance is a stunning Resort located along the beach front surrounded by coastal dunes and a tranquil national park. There is also a links style championship golf course on site for all your cute buggy shot needs. Offering resort style apartment accommodation that your whole wedding can book for an overnight stay or the whole weekend. Get married on the lakeside lawn which offers panoramic golf course views and no need to worry about the rain as they also have a stunning wet weather back up on the balcony without losing any of those beautiful views. Once you’ve said the big “I do” we can hop on some golf carts and drive around the picturesque course with stunning water views for some beautiful wedding photos.
Somersby Gardens – Somersby
This gorgeous property is located in Somersby just off the freeway. The grounds are set against the Australian bush and beautifully landscaped with stunning Australian natives. There is a huge 7-bedroom house onsite that is so big both the bride and groom can get ready under the one roof at either end of the house. There is also a pool to cool off for those hot summer wedding days. With such a large garden they offer multiple sites for your ceremony but my favourite is the outdoor amphitheater. Somersby Falls is just down the road for some stunning shots and if you have enough time, you MUST head out to the rock ledge for some breathtaking photos. Well worth the short 4wd trip which they will supply. Totally recommended to do at sunset!
Firescreek Winery – Matcham
If you have a feel for Hunter Valley vibes but don`t want to travel too far then look no further than Firescreek Winery in Matcham. This gorgeous little vineyard is well known for its fruity wines and hosting beautiful wedding ceremonies with stunning photo spots. You can’t have your reception here however they have the most beautiful ceremony location including a beautiful white outdoor arbour. There is a backup glass house that can be used in case of bad weather. You are also very welcome to have your wedding photos around the grounds. No matter what time of year this place looks amazing full of lush greens and purples in summer and vibrant orange and auburn hues in autumn and winter, ensuring year round amazing photos.
Norah Head Light House – Norah Head
If you are a beachy couple and love the big blue ocean then Norah Head Light-house is a perfect backdrop for you. You can get married in front of the beautiful historic lighthouse with stunning water backdrops. They offer onsite accommodation and the possibility of erecting a marquee for an onsite reception as well. Within minutes on foot you can be on the beautiful beach and rocky platforms below for photos. Just be mindful girls it can get very windy here so an updo hairstyle definitely holds up much better unless you love the windswept look.
Rafferty’s Resort – Cams Wharf
Rafferty’s resort is not technically located on the coast but it’s so good and close that it gets an honorary mention as our next door neighbour. This place is one HUGE resort located right on Lake Macquarie, with the famous Catherine Hill Bay Jetty and beach just a 5 min drive away. There are loads of accommodation options onsite enough for all your guests to stay the night or the weekend! You won’t need to go anywhere else or worry about any car transport as everything is onsite. Get married right on the lakes edge followed by your reception in the Jetty Function room encased by glass all-around with beautiful water views. Not only are the grounds beautiful for photos but Catherine Hill Bay is just a 5 min drive away. Get some stunning shots on the beach or with the old rustic jetty. Then head back for stunning sunset photos on the lake which is a must if you choose to get married at Rafferty’s.
Crown Plaza – Terrigal
This stunning beach side resort located opposite Terrigal beach has everything. Offering deluxe accommodation with multiple ceremony and reception options you really are spoilt for choice. If you are thinking of a large affair the grand ballroom can hold up to 350 guests, or for something smaller Seasalt restaurant can hold up to 100 people. The hotel itself has many photo locations to take advantage of including the glamorous grand stair case. Terrigal beach is just across the road or with a 1-minute drive and you are in the Haven for endless photo opportunities on the rocks and on the beach.
The Springs – Peats Ridge
The Springs golf in Peats Ridge is the perfect venue for couples wanting a rustic feel set against the Australian bush. This 125-acre property also has a 72-par championship golf course onsite. They can cater to small intimate weddings right up to 350 guests. Get married on the golf course then jump on some buggy’s and head off for some beautiful photos set against the gorgeous bush.
Kantara House – Kincumber
Kantara is located in Kincumber on the Central Coast. Imagine getting married surrounded by stunning lush green rainforest or inside the most beautiful white timber chapel with crystal chandeliers. The Charlotte Chapel is newly built and I think it’s one of the most stunning chapels on the coast. You don’t need to go anywhere else when at Kantara. You can get married, have your photos and then reception all in the spot. Your guests can mingle in undercover areas having canopies while you wander the gardens getting those beautiful shots. They also have a gorgeous fairy lit outdoor space perfect for doing your bridal waltz and also doubles for some beautiful night shots!
